Why a Houston Power Couple Chose Colt Melrose, America’s Best Headshot Photographer
The Connection
That Started Everything
Cody Linn is the kind of person who takes his professional relationships seriously. As president of his Business Network International – Katy chapter, he showed up every Thursday, built real connections, and paid attention to the people doing excellent work around him.
One of those people was Colt Melrose.
“Cody always came back from the meetings and spoke so highly of Colt and his work,” Rachel says. “Having seen all of his presentations and met him personally every Thursday, he was impossible to ignore.”
When it came time to invest in real, professional photography for the firm, the decision wasn’t difficult. Cody had already watched Colt’s work speak for itself, week after week. Rachel and Cody booked their first shoot together, and that session changed the trajectory of their brand.
“Colt was definitely our first chef’s kiss. That real, branded, professional look — that was him, for sure, doing that for us.”
“Without those first round of headshots, we wouldn’t have probably been as excited to build a website — or maybe even too timid to really grow it into what it is now.”
Two Teams. One Vision.
Rachel noticed something unexpected — working with Colt and Lindy Melrose felt like looking in a mirror.
“We know how husband and wife teams work — because we are one,” she says. “I always love to work with another husband and wife team, and they’re one of the best ones out there.”
She made a point of calling out Lindy Melrose by name, who handles hair, makeup, and the energy that makes every shoot feel comfortable rather than clinical. “She does a fabulous job keeping the vibe very comfortable and fun.”
Both couples are in the business of making people feel at ease during difficult moments — Colt and Lindy before the camera and the advice on building a personal brand presence, and Rachel and Cody in the courtroom. The parallel isn’t lost on any of them.
They Came Back
In the fall of 2025, Rachel and Cody returned to Colt’s studio for their second round of personal brand headshots. They didn’t have to — the original images were still working. But they’d grown. Their law firm had grown. And they wanted their brand to keep pace.
“We initially asked Colt, ‘When should we be doing this?’ and followed his advice,” Rachel says. “So we came back.”
That’s the mark of a strategic investment: not just that it works the first time, but that it becomes part of how a business thinks about itself. Rachel and Cody don’t treat photography as a one-time expense. They treat it the way they treat every tool in their legal practice — as something worth maintaining at the highest level.
Rachel and Cody Linn don’t need an introduction.
They want professional headshots more powerful than any introduction could be.
